Sunrise Hunting

Last weekend, we were in Pramuka Island, one of the biggest islands in Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands), Jakarta. So here you are, our photos when we hunt for sunrise (in fact, the night before, the rain fall until morning)

Undersea Heaven in Thousand Islands

Sepa Island, the rich of underwater ecosystem Kepulauan Seribu of Jakarta, is a heaven for divers. Diving and snorkeling are two main activities in the island, as well as fishing.

After taking a 90-minutes trip from Marina Dock, tourists will be welcomed by tropical natural and refreshing nuance in this island. Compared to any other islands in Kepulauan Seribu, Sepa Island has the best sand and the most beautiful pristine blue water. It is still natural. People hardly find rocks in the seashore of the island.

While diving and snorkeling, people can see clearly the fascinating corals and underwater animals. Sepa Island is home to colorful fish.

People who are tired of diving can enjoy other water activities, such as water ski, banana boat, canoe, flying fox, knee board, glass board, boat rental, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet ski, and also marine walk. Marine walk allows the diver to stay underwater just by wearing a helmet.

The 37.5 kilo grams Japanese-technology helmet will be lighter once people get into water. People can easily walk on the ocean bed. This package make Sepa Island a perfect getaway.

If you ever visited Thousand Islands. You will/ can find Panggang Island, one of the populated island there. It's located in the west of main island, Pramuka Island. You can reach Panggang Island by traditional boat called "ojeg". Only Rp 5.000,- (about $ 0,6). or you can try this, but it's not recommended. You can go there by swimming (WOW). For your info, Panggang island's people usually swim across the deep see from Panggang to Pramuka. It's about a hundred meters long. Wanna Try?

So, what will you see there? I'll tell you, there are a lot houses and fishponds with many little alleys. Most of them are fisherman and crew of big ship. Here, not like another island which have many beautiful beach, there is a small beach with smooth sand and beautiful view. what you can do is visiting the society here. Many people here come from many district. Most of them are from land (Jakarta) and from another island in Thousand Islands. So, in this island there are a lot of culture you can fell, and a lot of society you can learn.

a little heaven called "Thousand Island"

Indonesia have many islands, from the biggest like Sumatera, Java, and Kalimantan, to the smallest like there wouldn't shown in map :-). Thousand Islands or Pulau Seribu is one of small cluster of coral islands. It's located in the north Jakarta, about 2 - 4 hours long by a traditional ship.

so why it's called "a little heaven"?. The story begin in Jakarta, one of the most populated city in the world. I live in Jakarta and every day, I only see office building, market, and another crowded place. There are only a few "green zone" in Jakarta. Life here was great, we can found what we need, But if there isn't any 'natural place'? don't we need a vacation to release our stress while working?

Yup, Then I decided to take a trip. I didn't know where to go. First I thought that BALI will be the right place. The problem was about the price. I didn't have much money to buy a ticket or pay any guide. 'The trip must go on' (talking myself) when I remembered about Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands). I've heard a long time ago and the worse that I didn't notice that place earlier.

Then I searched on the Internet about Pulau Seribu. I must say WOOOW. Amazing, it didn't look like Bali, but it's awesome. Green-Blue water with the beautiful beach was shown in my laptop. I found the price. It's only about Rp 300.000,- (about $ 31) for 2 nights and 1 day vacation. and this is our trip with local guide
